'Hospitality' Rose To Be Grown in Ireland
Dublin City Council has planted 50 roses in St. Anne's Park, Raheny, and Brother Kilian Keaney has planted 40 roses in a new plot in the Community Cemetery at Stillorgan, Co. Dublin.
The rose is a Floribunda with red and yellow petal and has a strong fragrance it grows to a height of 39"
The Hospitality Rose ws created by rose breeder Colin Harner to mark the work of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God in Great Britain. If is the brainchild of Br. Stanislaus Neild and was chosen by Br. Felix O'Neill. The rose was originally launched at Hampton Court Flower Festival on 6th July 1999.
