Five Vietnamese Brothers Make Profession
The Province of Vietnam chose this year’s feast day of St. Joseph –
patron of both the Diocese and the Novitiate – for five
novices to make
their first profession and for six Postulants to enter the Novitiate.
The newly professed Brothers are (from left to right in above photo):
Jean Baptist Le Cong Anh, Joseph Tran Van Truong, Pet Nguyen Thai
Binh, Francis Xavier Dau Viet Quy and Peter Nguyen Trong Quynh.
On 19 March the profession Mass began at 5 a.m. and was attended by
many Brothers, lay people, parents and relatives. After Mass everyone
enjoyed a fraternal breakfast in which they shared in the happiness of
the five newly professed Brothers.
That evening, at 5.15 p.m., six Postulants entered the Novitiate. The
new novices (from left to right in the photo above) Hoang Trung Hien,
Pet Nguyen Duc, Anton Nguyen Ngoc Hoang, Joseph Ngo Manh Tuong
Quan, Vincent Nguyen Trung Truc and Francis Nguyen Thanh Cuong.
The preparation of the new novices included a three-year medical course.
