Vietnamese Brother Celebrates Golden Jubilee of Religious Profession
Brother Peter Nguyen Manh Duy celebrated the
Golden Jubilee of his religious profession during the General Canonical
Visitation of the Province.
Bishop Paul Nguyen Thanh Hoan celebrated a Thanksgiving Mass , at Tan Bien, for the life and service of Brother Peter. In addition to members of the family of Brother Peter, the Mass and social celebrations were attended by 300 other people—including 10 Priests and many religious. Brothers, and Sisters. Especially honoured guests included Brother Vincent Kochamkunnel (General Councillor), Brother Moises Martin (General Curia), Mr. Denis Morin (Canada) and Mr. Marco Brugoram (Italy).
Brother Peter was born in 1940 and made first profession of religious vows in 1961. He made Solemn Profession in 1967. Today he is one of the senior Brothers of the Vietnamese Province. Brother Peter was the General Delegate of Vietnam when the Communities and works of the Order in that country were made into a Province on 15 August 1999. He then served as Provincial and, in that capacity, attended the General Chapter at Granada, Spain, in 2000
