121 hours of ‘non-stop’ prayer during WYD - From the 16th to the 21st of August, a great human chain will pray for vocations
Whatever
the hour of the day, from 16 to 21 August, there will be someone praying for
WYD and its fruits. This is the aim of the Chain of Eucharistic Adoration to
begin August 16th in the chapel at the Madrid Seminary (calle San Bernardo, 9) and continue
for a total of 121 hours.
More than 300 communities and 40 Diocese of Spain and different parts of the
world have joined this chain of prayer which will continue until WYD concludes.
The Seminary chapel in Madrid will be open daily for prayer
before the Most Holy Sacrament*, and each hour will be led by a different
diocese and its pastor, except at nighttimes or during the acts presided over
by the Holy Father. At these times, hundreds of contemplative monks will offer
prayers to our Lord from their monasteries in order to maintain the perpetual
Adoration.
The cloistered monasteries of Madrid have also joined the chain and will remain
open throughout WYD for all those who wish to enter and pray. In addition, more
than 50 of the city’s churches will open their doors all day and many will have
activities of adoration led by various movements and institutions of the
Church.
