St. John of God ‘Youth’ Meet

 In connection with World Youth Day celebrations in Spain a meeting of young Brothers, Co-workers and friends and supporters of John-of-God Hospitality in the world is took place at Madrid from 12-21 August, 2011. This was a meeting of the ‘younger’ members of "The Family of Saint John of God". Consequently, the age group of participants was limited to between 16 and 40 years.

 The meeting was organised for the Order by the Spanish and Portuguese Brothers of Saint John of God and Hospitaller Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus  The participants stayed at the Albergo San Juan de Dios in Madrid.

 On the night of 20 to 21 August, after the Pope’s visit to the Order’s house at Carabancel  and the WYD vigil, participants spent the night outdoors in the fields of the Cuatro Vientos airport.

 Amongst the representatives of the Asia Pacific Region at the meeting were Brothers Larry Wamug and Richard Taumana (Oceania Province) and Br. Michael Lee (Korea) and Co-workers Mrs Wheran Kee, Ms Aekung Kim and Ms Gwirye Lee (Korea).
