Br. Aidan Guest of President Higgins

Brother Aidan Clohessy, Director of Saint John of God Community Services in Malawi, was the guest of President Michael D. Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin recently. The President presented Brother Aidan with a book of his poetry and gave permission for one of his poems to be translated into Chichewa, Malawi’s national language.  The poem will be set to music by the UMOZA children’s music and dance troupe. The UMOZA project supports street children and is one of many programmes run by Saint John of God Community Services in Malawi. President Higgins has visited Malawi and one of his children has volunteered there.
