The Order's E U office in Brussels

The Director of the Order's European office inBrussels began work on 16 January, 2012. The Prior General, Bro. Donatus Forkan, and the President of the Europe Commission, Bro. Rudolf Knopp, welcomed Dr. Carlo Galasso in his new post. Dr. Galasso is 30 years old and a European law specialist. He was appointed by the General Curia following a Europe-wide selection procedure and after thorough examination by the Europe Commission. He is experienced in dealing in Brussels with the European institutions and also trained with an international law firm in Brussels.

 Initially, Dr Galasso will spend short periods in several European Provinces to better familiarise himself with the Order as a whole. In the course of these visits he will try to gain a better understanding of what each of the Provinces expect from the new Brussels office and of the European projects currently being implemented, and will acquire a general understanding of the Order's European operations. Each Province has appointed a liaison person to the office.
